You don't specify which videos you've been watching, but it sounds like they're all based on the Windows version of PowerPoint.
Youtube video is not a supported embeddable file type in the Mac version of the program. Use the criteria youtube in the Search feature in the upper right corner of the Community page to find numerous existing Answers on the subject, including a variety of suggested options.
